The XLR8 MACh Speed G4Z 450 features a 450 MHz PowerPC 7400 (G4) processor with the AltiVec "Velocity Engine" vector processing unit and 1 MB of backside cache. The card plugs into the ZIF socket provided by the Power Macintosh G3 series, replacing the original processor card. Like the MACh Speed G3Z, all upgrade cards in the MACh Speed G4Z series have switches or a dial that can be used to adjust both the backside bus speed and ratio.
