Mac-Compatible Upgrade Cards: FastMac: G4/466 (iMac) Specs

<Picture Unavailable>

The FastMac G4/466 (iMac) features a 466 MHz PowerPC 7400 (G4) processor (450 MHz overclocked to 466 MHz) with 1 MB of backside cache. The G4/466 (iMac) is installed in the iMac G3 daughtercard slot, replacing the original daughtercard. Following in the footsteps of Newer, PowerLogix, and Sonnet, FastMac cleverly circumvented the ROM-issue regarding processor upgrades (see FAQ), by retro-fitting an existing iMac daughtercard with a faster processor. In fact, FastMac required you to remove your daughtercard and ship it to them to perform the upgrade. This upgrade is compatible with all tray-loading iMac G3 models (233 MHz, 266 MHz, 333 MHz).
