The Sonnet Crescendo G3 7200 500/1M features a 500 MHz PowerPC 750 (G3) processor with 1 MB of backside cache. The Crescendo G3 7200 is the first upgrade card for the Power Macintosh 7200, which due to a soldered processor and an inadequate L2 cache slot, was previously impossible to upgrade. Sonnet, rather remarkably, has designed an upgrade card that uses a PCI slot to bypass these limitations. This upgrade card also features a "Fortissimo" 66 MHz bus and three onboard RAM slots to greatly improve performance. |
