August 11, 2009

This month, EveryMac.com features a comprehensive update to the iPhone Q&A to cover the iPhone 3GS differences, performance, battery life, unlocking, and more. A variety of other new Q&As useful for Mac mini, Mac Pro, and MacBook users have been added as well.

Thank you very much to everyone who participated in last month's e-mail questionnaire and for the kind words. Your feedback will be used to continuously improve EveryMac.com. Interested in providing your feedback for future consideration? Become a member.

The iPhone Q&A answers "What are all the differences between the iPhone 3G and the iPhone 3GS?" and "How does the battery life of the iPhone 3GS compare to the iPhone 3G in 'real-world' tests? Is the battery replaceable?" and dozens of other questions about the faster iPhone 3GS and cheaper iPhone 3G.

In case you missed one, Q&As since the last major update include:

  • What is a good wireless keyboard with a trackpad to use with a Mac mini while sitting on the couch?
  • Are there any adapters or "hacks" that make it possible to connect a second external display to a MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air model?
  • Can you purchase the iPhone models "unlocked"?
  • How does the battery life of the iPhone 3GS compare to the iPhone 3G in "real-world" tests? Is the battery replaceable?
  • How much faster is the iPhone 3GS than the iPhone 3G? How much difference does this speed boost make in actual use?
  • What are the differences between the iPhone 3GS and the iPod touch 2G?
  • What are the differences between the iPhone 3GS and the iPhone 3G?
  • Is it possible to install an SSD in the Mac Pro models instead of a hard drive? How does this impact performance?
  • How do you upgrade the processors in the "Early 2009/Nehalem" Mac Pro models? How are the processors mounted?
