This update of EveryMac.com features a comprehensive update to the Mac Pro Q&A to cover the latest models, a variety of new iPod Q&As about the new iPod shuffle, iPod nano, and iPod touch, and additional details on the now shipping 27-Inch Apple LED Cinema Display.
If you missed it last month, EveryMac.com's new "Ultimate Mac Comparison 2.0" makes it simple to dynamically compare G3 and later Macs side-by-side, just like the original.
However, this completely rewritten second version is faster and has new category tabs -- Current Macs, Intel Macs, G3, G4 & G5 Macs, G3 & Later Macs, and iPod, iPhone & iPad -- to make it easier to find and compare Macs of similar vintage in addition to the iPod, iPhone and iPad lines. The new version also introduces dynamic "highlighting" capability to make it easier to spot similarities and differences between models.
The completely updated Mac Pro Q&A answers "How do you upgrade the RAM in the 'Mid-2010' Mac Pro models? How much RAM of what type do these models actually support?" and "How fast are the 'Mid-2010' Mac Pro models compared to one another? How much faster are the 'Mid-2010' Mac Pro models compared to the 'Early 2009' models replaced?" and everything in between about the latest Mac Pro line.
New iPod Q&As include "What are the differences between the iPod touch 4th Generation, the iPhone 4 and the iPad? Which one is right for me?" and "How do the cameras in the iPod touch 4th Gen compare to the cameras in the iPhone 4? Does the iPod touch 4th Gen provide a camera that is 'good' for my needs?" along with other questions covering the new iPod models.
If you buy a new iPod, please send in its serial number. If you buy a new Mac Pro, please send in its serial number. This information will be added to EveryMac.com's Ultimate Mac Lookup to help with model identification and differentiation. Thank you very much.
