December 10, 2010

This month, EveryMac.com features a motley assortment of new and updated Q&As -- covering the MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Mac mini, iPhone, iPad, Windows on Mac and more -- as well as an all new "Mac Upgrades" section.

As requested by readers, the new Mac Upgrades section provides direct links to all upgrade related Q&As for G3 and later Macs on a single page for your convenience.

EveryMac.com's Ultimate Mac Lookup also has been updated with many additional serial numbers for vintage G3-based and G4-based Macs submitted by readers. Thank you very much to those who contributed information, it's always appreciated.

Do you have an iMac G5 or a Power Mac G5? Try looking it up by its serial number with EveryMac.com's Ultimate Mac Lookup feature. If it can't be identified, please send in the missing information. With your contributions, even more Macs will be easier to identify on EveryMac.com. Thank you.

In case you missed one, a selection of Q&As since the last major update include:

  • Are there any adapters or "hacks" that make it possible to connect a second external display to a MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air model?
  • How do you upgrade the hard drive in the Aluminum "Unibody" Mac mini models? What type of hard drive do they support?
  • What are the main differences between each iPhone -- the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G and the original iPhone? How can each be identified quickly?
  • Is it possible to print documents directly from the iPad or do they have to be transferred to a computer first?
  • Which Intel Macs are capable of booting the 32-Bit and 64-Bit versions of Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7? Which are supported by Apple's Boot Camp?
