January 17, 2011

This month, EveryMac.com features preliminary specs (and a handful of Q&As) on the new Verizon CDMA version of the iPhone 4 as well as new "Today in Mac History" mentions on "social media."

Additionally, the Currently Shipping, By Year, By Processor, By Capability and By Identifier methods to browse iPod, iPhone and iPad models have been updated.

EveryMac.com's Ultimate Mac Lookup also has been updated with many additional serial numbers submitted by readers. Thank you very much to those who contributed information from holiday purchases, it's always appreciated.

For fans of social media, EveryMac.com is sharing a handful of "Today in Mac History" mentions each month in addition to new Q&As and site updates. These spotlight selected Macs from 1984 to the present on their day of release. If you use social media, be sure to follow along for this fun new addition.

If you choose to not use social media, no problem. EveryMac.com also remains quite happy to keep you informed via "old school" e-mail.

In case you missed one, Q&As since the last major update include:

  • What are all the differences between the iPhone 4 (AT&T/GSM) and the iPhone 4 (Verizon/CDMA)? Which one should I buy?
  • What are all the differences between the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 3GS?
  • What are the main differences between each iPhone -- the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G and the original iPhone? How can each be quickly identified?
  • What are the "pros and cons" of the iPhone 4? Is the iPhone 4 "worth it" for me?

If you weren't following along on social media, select dates in "Mac History" since the last major update include the following Apple hardware introductions:
