This update of EveryMac.com features preliminary specs and global prices (as well as some Q&As) on all three variants of the new iPhone 5 and the new iPod touch, iPod nano, and iPod shuffle. Additional details will be added after these devices ship.

Wonder if your current iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad will work with iOS 6? EveryMac.com has compatibility info for each device.

Additionally, the Currently Shipping, By Year, By Processor, By Capability, and By Identifier methods to browse iPod, iPhone and iPad models have been updated. The Ultimate iLookup and Ultimate iComparison features have been updated, too.

Finally, the EveryMac app [subsequently discontinued] -- thoughtfully designed for the small screens of iPhone and iPod touch devices -- has been updated to cover the new iPhone and iPod models, as well.

For those interested in saving money on a new iPod, site sponsor Adorama is accepting pre-orders for the forthcoming iPod touch (5th Gen) and iPod nano (7th Gen) free of sales tax and with free shipping. PowerMax also has some just discontinued and used iPod models at discounted prices.

If you buy a new iPhone or iPod, please send in its serial number. The non-personal information will be added to EveryMac.com to help with model identification and differentiation. Thank you very much.
