This update of EveryMac.com features sitewide preliminary compatibility details for macOS Big Sur (macOS 11), iOS 14, iPadOS 14, tvOS 14, and watchOS 7; preliminary specs on the Mac mini DTK; and new Q&As.

Each of these operating systems announced at WWDC this week is available now for developers, is scheduled for a public beta next month, and final consumer versions are promised this autumn. The Developer Transition Kit (DTK) is available now for rent by Apple developers. Additional details can be added as they become available.

EveryMac.com's Ultimate Mac Comparison, Ultimate Mac Sort, and Ultimate Mac Lookup have been updated, too.

Remember that EveryMac.com's Ultimate Mac Comparison makes it straightforward to perform side-by-side comparisons of Mac and device specs, benchmarks, operating system support, and more.

EveryMac.com's Ultimate Mac Sort, on the other hand, makes it easy to see all Macs that meet multiple specific criteria. For example, if you want to see all 13" MacBook Pro models with Core i7 processors that support macOS Big Sur (macOS 11), you can do so with just a few clicks.

Likewise, if you haven't installed the EveryMac webapp for iOS, Android, or Kindle Fire, now is a great time to give it a spin.

EveryMac.com's Ultimate Mac Lookup has been updated with additional identifiers for Macs and devices from hands-on inspection and submissions by helpful readers. Thank you very much to those who continue to contribute info. It's appreciated always.

If you are a developer and have the Mac mini DTK, or will have it soon, please get in touch to help complete its identifiers. Non-personal information will be added to EveryMac.com's Ultimate Mac Lookup to help with model identification and differentiation. Thank you.

New Q&As

A selection of Q&As since the last major site update include:

  • Which Macs are compatible with macOS Big Sur (macOS 11)? What are the system requirements? What are the major new features?
  • Which iPhone and iPod touch models support iOS 14? Does iOS 14 support the same devices as its predecessor?
  • Which iPad models support iPadOS 14? Do some models "partially" support iPadOS 14? Which ones?
