Introduced alongside the MacBook Pro M5 Pro/Max models as a somewhat affordable, relatively high-quality display for Mac users, the Apple Studio Display (2026) is a 27" 5K "Retina Display" in a minimalist, squared off aluminum housing with an integrated six-speaker stereo system and a 12 megapixel "Center Stage" webcam with "Desk View" support.
This display has a native resolution of 5120x2880, 218 PPI, brightness of 600 nits, 60 Hz refresh rate, wide color (P3) and True Tone support. There are two display finish options, standard, and a "nano-texture" for an extra US$300 that promises reduced glare.
Connectivity includes one "upstream" Thunderbolt 5 (up to 120 Gb/s, USB-C connector) port for the host computer (with 96W host charging), one "downstream" Thunderbolt 5 port (up to 120 Gb/s, USB-C connector) port, and two USB-C ports (up to 10 Gb/s) for connecting peripherals, storage, and networking.
