All Apple Watch Models

Apple Watch Nike+, 42 mmThe Apple Watch Series 2 models were promoted as "the ultimate device for a healthy life" with greater focus on health-related functionality than the original models. However, like their predecessors, all Apple Watch Series 2 devices are controlled with a "Digital Crown" and a Force Touch capable display and need to be paired with an iPhone 5 or newer for most functionality.

All Apple Watch Series 2 models have a dual core processor, water resistance to 50 meters, and built in GPS capabilities. This particular Apple Watch Series 2 model, the Nike+ version in the 42 mm size, features a 312x390 display with strengthened, lightweight "Ion-X glass" in a 7000 series anodized aluminum housing.

Battery life is an Apple estimated "up to 18 hours" overall, but more specifically "up to 3 hours" of talk time, "up to 6.5 hours" of audio playback, and "up to 8 hours" working out.

Each Apple Watch Nike+ configuration has a custom Nike+ fluroelastomer band with "compression-molded perforations" (holes) that "reduces weight and improves ventilation" as well as custom Nike watch faces and a "permanent complication" for launching the Nike+ Run Club app. There originally were four specific Apple Watch Nike+ configurations -- a silver aluminum case with either a flat silver/volt (neon yellow) Nike sport band or a flat silver/white Nike sport band or a dark "Space Gray" aluminum case with either a black/volt (neon yellow) Nike sport band or a black/cool gray Nike sport band.

On March 21, 2017, Apple discontinued these original four options and replaced them with two very similar choices -- a silver aluminum case with a "pure platinum" and white Nike sport band and a dark "Space Gray" aluminum case with an Anthracite/Black Nike sport band. Apple also started to sell a variety of Nike sport bands independently for the first time.
