Unveiled as a "budget" option alongside the Apple Watch Series 8, the Apple Watch SE 2 (2022) essentially is a re-release of the original Apple Watch SE with the faster processor from the Apple Watch Series 8. It lacks an "Always On" display and more advanced sensors, but still has Activity tracking, high and low heart rate notifications, Emergency SOS, and Crash Detection features. It only is available in Aluminum.

All cellular-equipped Apple Watch Series SE 2 models, including this one, are capable of being connected to the Internet without a "tethered" iPhone, but it still is intended to be used with an iPhone 8 or later running iOS 16 or later for some functions.

All Apple Watch SE 2 devices are controlled with a Digital Crown with haptic feedback and a touch capable display. This particular Apple Watch SE 2, a cellular capable model in the 40 mm size, features a 324x394 LTPO OLED screen with Ion-X glass packed in an aluminum case with a ceramic and sapphire crystal back that connects to the charger. Battery life is an Apple estimated "up to 18 hours" overall in modest use.

There are three aluminum housing options with two band sizes each available from Apple Authorized Resellers -- warm gray "Starlight" with a Starlight Sport Band (pictured, right), nearly black "Midnight" with a Midnight Sport Band, and Silver with a White Sport Band (pictured, left). A variety of other watch bands are available from Apple via customization, as well.
