All Apple Watch Models

Apple Watch Series 1, 42 mmThe Apple Watch Series 1 models are a revised version of the original Apple Watch Sport with the same functionality, but a more powerful dual core processor.

Like their predecessors, all Apple Watch Series 1 devices are controlled with a "Digital Crown" and a Force Touch capable display and need to be paired with an iPhone 5 or newer for most functionality.

This particular Apple Watch, the Series 1 model in the 42 mm size, features a 312x390 display with "strengthened, lightweight Ion-X glass" packed in a 7000 series anodized aluminum housing with a composite back and "hard coated optical polymer lenses" that connect to the charger.

Battery life is an Apple estimated "up to 18 hours" overall, but more specifically "up to 3 hours" of talk time, "up to 6.5 hours" of audio playback, and "up to 8 hours" working out.

There originally were four specific configurations of this Apple Watch Series 1 that vary by finish and band. It initially was available with a silver colored aluminum case and a white fluoroelastomer rubber "Sport Band;" a gold colored aluminum case and a dark brown "cocoa" fluoroelastomer rubber "Sport Band" (pictured, left); a rose gold colored aluminum case and a dark "Midnight Blue" fluoroelastomer rubber "Sport Band" (pictured, right); and a dark "Space Gray" colored aluminum case and a black fluoroelastomer rubber "Sport Band."

On March 21, 2017, Apple discontinued the gold colored aluminum case and dark brown "cocoa" fluoroelastomer rubber "Sport Band" and rose gold colored aluminum case and dark "Midnight Blue" fluoroelastomer rubber "Sport Band" options and replaced them with a rose gold colored aluminum case and light "pink sand" fluoroelastomer rubber "Sport Band" and a gold colored aluminum case and dark "Midnight Blue" fluoroelastomer rubber "Sport Band" option.

Finally, on September 12, 2017, Apple discontinued all but two options -- the silver aluminum case with the white fluoroelastomer rubber "Sport Band" and the dark "Space Gray" colored aluminum case with a black fluoroelastomer rubber "Sport Band" and lowered the price. On September 12, 2018, Apple discontinued this model altogether.
