It is not compatible with LTE bands 12 (700 MHz), 13 (700c MHz), 14 (700 PS), and 17 (700b MHz). It is sold only in mainland China and Hong Kong.

The Apple Watch Series 9 models are quite similar to the Apple Watch Series 8 models that they replaced, but they have a new processor, a brighter display, support for a "magical new double tap gesture," and improved Siri capabilities.

All cellular-equipped Apple Watch Series 9 models, including this one, are capable of being connected to the Internet without a "tethered" iPhone, but it still is intended to be used with an iPhone XS or later running iOS 17 or later for some functions.

All Apple Watch Series 9 devices are controlled with a Digital Crown with haptic feedback and a touch capable display. This particular Apple Watch Series 9, the Cellular-capable model in the 41 mm size, features a 352x430 "Always-On Retina" LTPO OLED screen with "up to" 2000 nits of brightness and has either Ion-X glass packed in an aluminum case or sapphire crystal glass packed in a stainless steel case as well as a ceramic and sapphire crystal back that connects to the charger.

Battery life is an Apple estimated "up to 18 hours" overall in modest use; the "Low Power Mode" option can extend battery life to up to 36 hours by disabling the Always-On Display and other functions.

There are five aluminum body options that are offered by Apple Authorized Resellers -- pink (pictured, left), nearly black "Midnight", warm gray "Starlight", silver, and (PRODUCT) RED -- as well as three stainless steel options -- gold, silver (pictured, right), and graphite. A variety of bundled bands in addition to a wide range of additional watch bands are available from Apple via customization, as well.
