Apple Macintosh WGS 60As first shipped on July 1, 1993, the Apple Macintosh WGS 60 featured a 20 MHz 68LC040 processor, 4 MB of RAM, an 80 MB hard drive, and an optional 2X CD-ROM drive. On October 21, 1993, Apple released a second version with a 25 MHz 68040 processor, 8 MB of RAM, a 230 MB hard drive, and an optional 2X CD-ROM drive. Both use the same low-profile desktop case and shipped with pre-installed AppleShare 4.0 server software, too.

The business version of the first 68LC040-powered configuration is the Centris 610 and the second 68040-powered configuration is the Quadra 610.

Details: *The Macintosh WGS 60 models have a 32-bit processor and a 32-bit data path. The first version has a 20 MHz 68LC040 processor and the second has a 25 MHz 68040 processor. Sometimes these models are designated as having a 40 or 50 MHz processor, since the clock input runs at 40 or 50 MHz. However, the processors themselves are not "clock doubled," so technically each only is a 20 or 25 MHz processor.
