Apple Macintosh WGS 95 Specs

All Macintosh WGS Models | All 1993 Models | Dynamically Compare This Mac to Others

Apple Macintosh WGS 95The Apple Macintosh WGS 95 features a 33 MHz 68040 processor, 16 MB, 32 MB or 48 MB of RAM, a 230 MB, 500 MB or 1 GB (1000 MB) hard drive (or dual hard drives -- either 230 MB and 500 MB or 230 MB and 1 GB), and a PDS card with a 128k, 256k, or 512k level 2 cache and a secondary SCSI bus in the expandable tower case introduced by the Quadra 900. Some configurations came with a pre-installed DDS-DC 4 mm tape drive, as well.

Like the Quadra 900, the WGS 95 has sixteen RAM slots, three drive bays, and five NuBus slots to offer numerous expansion options (one occupied by the PDS card). However, the WGS 95 is unique because although it is capable of running the Mac OS, it only is full-featured running A/UX, Apple's Unix OS; so one could argue that this barely is a Macintosh, despite its name.

In the picture, the WGS 95 case design is on the left.
