With this update, EveryMac.com is pleased to unveil two new features, perhaps the most significant additions to the site since its launch in 1996.

For those of you who have used EveryMac.com and wished that there was some way to dynamically compare multiple Macs side-by-side -- perhaps the Mac you own to a couple of Macs you would like to buy -- it is now possible. Introducing the all new "Ultimate Mac Comparison" feature of EveryMac.com.

For all G3 and later Macs -- as well as the iPod models -- EveryMac.com's Ultimate Mac Comparison makes it quick and easy to compare, say, the Power Mac G3 450 (Blue & White) to the Power Mac G4 733 (Digital Audio) and the Power Mac G5 Dual Core (2.0), or the PowerBook G4 1.5 12-Inch to the MacBook Air "Core 2 Duo" 1.86 and the MacBook "Core 2 Duo" 2.4 (Unibody). You could even choose to compare the original iPod to the original iMac and the original Xserve, if that was useful for some reason.

You get the idea. With more than 20 million different combinations, your choices are practically limitless and complete specs merely are a click away.

But that's not all, you can even save links to custom comparisons courtesy of the new "EveryMac.com Professional" feature. Created with serious users in mind, EveryMac.com Pro makes it easy to keep track of a number of Macs or iPods for work, school, or personal use. In addition to links to your own custom comparisons, you can link to other pages on EveryMac.com with a couple of clicks and add links to any other page on the web as well, all with categories and titles of your choosing.

For example, if you are in charge of a computer lab, you do not have to remember that "Homer" is a Power Mac G5 1.8 (PCI-X) and "Bart" is a Power Mac G5 1.8 DP (PCI), because you simply can have "Homer" and "Bart" linked to the applicable specs pages on EveryMac.com along with links to relevant EveryMac.com Q&As, support resources, and more. You could choose to make a list of the iPods you support for the kids, the Macs in your collection, the Macs that you would like to have in your collection, and so on. It's your very own EveryMac.com for you to use in the way that is most convenient for you.

Please note that although both the Ultimate Mac Comparison and EveryMac.com Pro features have been tested extensively, your mileage may vary, and both are subject to change and should be considered to be in "beta". In particular, neither yet displays properly with IE 5 or 6 for that other operating system. For security as well as functionality, users misfortunate enough to still be using IE should consider upgrading to any other browser -- Firefox, Safari, Chrome, and Opera for Windows, as well as all modern Mac browsers, work as intended.

As mentioned with the last update -- mere days ago -- new servers and new features are costly and this type of addition only is possible with your continued support of the companies that sponsor the site. With your continued patronage, EveryMac.com will be able to serve you for years to come.

It is hoped that you enjoy these major additions to EveryMac.com and find the site even more useful than before.
