This update of EveryMac.com features a comprehensive revision to the "White" MacBook Q&A to cover the affordable new White "Early 2009 NVIDIA" MacBook model and a complete overhaul of the Original iMac Q&A. A handful of new Q&As on the now shipping 17-Inch "Unibody" MacBook Pro have been added as well.

For the price conscious, the new White "Early 2009 NVIDIA" MacBook model represents a good value and the "White" MacBook Q&A now answers "How fast is the 'Early 2009 NVIDIA' MacBook compared to the 'Early 2008 Penryn' models? How fast is it compared to the 'Late 2008 Unibody' MacBook?" and "How do you upgrade the RAM in the 'White & Black' MacBook models? How much RAM of what type do they support?" along with dozens of other questions.

For the extremely price conscious interested in getting a cheap all-in-one desktop Mac for the kids or basic productivity, the Original iMac Q&A has been largely rewritten and covers inexpensive upgrades and more. Everything from "How do you replace or upgrade the hard drive in the iMac G3 models? Do these models support 'big drives'?" to "Which iMac G3 models support AirPort? How do you install or replace the AirPort card?" is covered in-depth.

In case you missed one, Q&As since the last major update include:

  • How can I add Bluetooth to an iMac G3 model without internal support?
  • Which iMac G3 models support AirPort? How do you install or replace the AirPort card?
  • What are the capabilities of the optical drive provided by the iMac G3 models? How do you replace or upgrade the optical drive?

  • How do you upgrade the hard drive in the 17-Inch "Unibody" MacBook Pro?
  • How do you upgrade the RAM in the 17-Inch "Unibody" MacBook Pro? How much RAM of what type does it support?
