This update of EveryMac.com offers expanded "Quick Specs", enhancements to the "Ultimate Mac Comparison" and "Ultimate Mac Timeline" [subsequently discontinued] features, and two new "By Capability and Identifier" listings.
EveryMac.com's "Quick Specs" -- the convenient "flip open" specifications listed on G3 and later Mac category pages -- now include Model Numbers (A1278) and Model IDs (MacBook5,1) to make it even easier to locate a particular Mac. iPod, iPhone, and Cinema Displays likewise have additional flip open "Quick Specs" with more details to use for differentiation.
The "Ultimate Mac Comparison" and "Ultimate Mac Timeline" features now both include Model Numbers and Model IDs as well, and the "Ultimate Mac Timeline" also has improved "filter" and "highlight" capabilities. Now you can filter and highlight models by name, processor, subfamily, order number, model number, model identifier, and more.
The "By Capability & Identifier" section now provides new "Model Number/Family Number" and "Apple Subfamily" listings. If you are not familiar with the now twelve "By Capability & Identifier" listings, these provide a convenient one page "run down" of a particular capability or identifier for all G3 and later Macs.
For example, the "AirPort Capabilities" listing shows all G3 and later Macs on a single page with information about which models support 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n or none of the above and whether or not the particular standard of AirPort was pre-installed. The new "Apple Subfamily" listing, likewise, lists the official Apple subfamily designation for each G3 and later Mac on a single page.
