October 11, 2011

This month, EveryMac.com features preliminary specs (and a handful of Q&As) on the all new intelligent assistant-equipped iPhone 4S and white iPod touch as well as all other changes to the iPhone and iPod lines. The Aluminum iMac Q&A also has new Q&As about the latest education-only iMac model.

Additionally, the Currently Shipping, By Year, By Processor, By Capability, and By Identifier methods to browse iPod, iPhone and iPad models have been updated. The Ultimate iLookup and Ultimate iComparison features have been updated, too.

If you missed it last month, be sure to also see EveryMac.com's all new Ultimate Mac Sort. This feature makes it easy to dynamically match G3 and later Macs that meet multiple specific technical or configuration criteria of your choice.

If you buy a new iPhone, iPod, or education-only iMac, please send in its serial number. The non-personal information will be added to EveryMac.com to help with model identification and differentiation. Thank you very much.

EveryMac.com also is pleased to note that the site has been +1'd by more than 100 people. If you like the site, and you haven't already done so, please click the home page +1 button. Thank you.

New Q&As:

In case you missed one, a selection of Q&As since the last major update include:

  • What are all the differences between the iPhone 4S and the iPhone 4? Which one is best for my needs?
  • What are the differences between the 2010 and 2011 iPod touch 4th Generation models and the iPod touch 3rd Generation?
  • What are the differences between the 2010 and 2011 iPod nano 6th Generation models and the iPod nano 5th Generation models they replaced? Which is better for me?
  • Which iPods are currently shipping? How many songs does each iPod hold? What are the "pros and cons" of each iPod? Which should I buy?
  • How much slower is the education-only "Late 2011" Aluminum iMac than the regular "Mid-2011" Aluminum iMac models? Are the savings worth the reduced performance?
  • What are all the differences between the education-only "Late 2011" Aluminum iMac and the regular "Mid-2011" Aluminum iMac models?
  • What is "AirDrop"? Which Macs are compatible with the AirDrop technology? Are there any "hacks" to use AirDrop with incompatible Macs?
