For those interested in the latest, EveryMac.com’s Mac Upgrade Q&As now cover additional upgrade options.

For those mostly interested in vintage Macs, EveryMac.com has painstakingly mended hundreds of links across the site that were no longer active, replacing them with updated versions or links to archived copies courtesy of the Internet Archive whenever possible.

EveryMac.com also is pleased to note that the EveryMac webapp for Android now has more than 350 five-star ratings. If you find the app helpful, and you haven’t already done so, please join the chorus and post your kind five-star rating or review, as well. Thank you very much for your support, as always.

Likewise, if you haven't installed the EveryMac webapp for iOS or Kindle Fire, now is a great time to give it a try.

EveryMac.com's Ultimate Mac Lookup has been updated with additional identifiers for Macs and devices from hands-on inspection and submissions by helpful readers. Thank you very much to those who contributed info from recent purchases. It's appreciated always.

New Q&As

A selection of Q&As since the last major site update include:

  • Which SD card storage solution is best for the Retina MacBook Pro? Which models are compatible? Is this type of storage safe?
  • How do you upgrade the hard drive in the "Unibody" MacBook Pro models? What type of hard drive do these models support? How do you replace the hard drive with an SSD?
  • How do you replace the optical drive in the "Unibody" MacBook Pro models with a hard drive or SSD? Is it possible?
  • How do you upgrade the hard drive in the "Tapered Edge" Aluminum iMac models? What type of storage do they support? Is it even possible to upgrade the hard drive or SSD?
  • What is the "real-world" battery life of the "Late 2016" Touch Bar MacBook Pro models? How does the battery life compare to the models replaced?
