Apple HomePodAvailable in two color options -- white and a dark "Space Gray" -- and marketed to primarily emphasize sound quality, the Apple HomePod is a wireless "smart speaker" for recent iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices.

Apple boasts that the HomePod has a "high-excursion woofer with custom amplifier," seven horn-loaded tweeters, six microphones, and "direct and ambient" beam forming for "amazing" sound.

The HomePod was designed to work with the Apple Music service and supports Siri for voice interaction, but it also has a round 272x340 display on the top with touch-sensitive controls for volume, track control, and Siri activation. Internally, it is powered by a 1.4 GHz Apple A8 processor, has 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, and supports 802.11ac (MIMO) Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0.

HomePod is compatible with the iPhone 5s or later, iPad Pro, iPad (5th Gen), iPad Air or later, iPad mini 2 or later, or iPod touch (6th Gen) running iOS 11.2.5 or later. It does not work directly with a Windows PC or Mac (although sound can be sent from the Mac to HomePod using AirPlay).
