The iBook G4/800 12-Inch (Original - Opaque White), features an 800 MHz PowerPC 7457 (G4) processor with a 256k "on chip" level 2 cache, 256 MB of RAM (PC2100 DDR SDRAM), a 30.0 GB Ultra ATA/100 hard drive, a slot-loading DVD-ROM/CD-RW "Combo" drive, 4X AGP ATI Mobility Radeon 9200 graphics with 32 MB of DDR SDRAM, and optional AirPort Extreme (802.11g) and Bluetooth 1.1 packed into a compact opaque white case with a 12.1" TFT XGA active matrix display (1024x768 native resolution).
The iBook G4 models look similar to the previously released iBook "G3" models, but internally, the computers are very different. The iBook G4 systems use the faster PowerPC "G4" processor -- as one would expect given the name -- but also have a faster motherboard design with a faster system bus, support for faster RAM, faster hard drive support, and faster graphics capabilities. The iBook G4 models also have USB 2.0 ports and support for AirPort Extreme (802.11g) and Bluetooth 1.1 (although neither AirPort Extreme or Bluetooth were pre-installed).
Unlike previous iBook models, no iBook G4 systems are capable of booting MacOS 9. These systems are capable of running MacOS 9 applications in the "Classic Environment" within MacOS X.
