Apple iPhone 16 Pro MaxPlease note that this A3297 iPhone 16 Pro Max is compatible with FDD-5G NR bands n1, n2, n3, n5, n7, n8, n12, n20, n25, n26, n28, n30, n66, n70, n75, and n76 as well as TDD-5G NR bands n38, n40, n41, n48, n77, n78, and n79. It is not compatible with FDD-5G NR bands n14 or n29, TDD-5G NR bands n53 or n71, or 5G NR mmWave bands n258, n260, and n261. It is intended for carriers in mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao, but it is technically compatible with carriers around the world. Unlike other iPhone 16 Pro Max models, it lacks eSIM capability entirely and instead supports dual hardware nano-SIMs.

All iPhone 16 Pro Max models have an "Always On" haptic-touch capable 6.9" (diagonal) "Super Retina XDR" display with ProMotion (2868x1320, 460 ppi, 120Hz refresh rates) that occupies nearly the entire front of the device. It has four cameras. On the front -- tucked in the "Dynamic Island" -- is a "TrueDepth" camera that in addition to supporting Face ID, has a f/1.9 aperture, takes 12 megapixel photos, and shoots 4K Dolby Vision video. The rear is equipped with a 4K capable "pro camera system" with a 48 megapixel "Fusion" camera (24 mm, f/1.78 aperture) that also supports 12 megapixel 2x Telephoto (52 mm, f/1.6 aperture) and separate 48 megapixel "Ultra Wide" (13 mm, f/2.2 aperture) and 12 megapixel 5x "Telephoto" (120 mm, f/2.8 aperture) capabilities.

The iPhone 16 Pro Max uses a "Titanium" case with flat sides and an aluminum "internal structural frame" and has a glass front and glass back. The front has a "Ceramic Shield" cover for durability and the back has an integrated "MagSafe" magnetic charging connection. It is splash, water, and dust-resistant to the IP68 standard (maximum depth of 6 meters up to 30 minutes). It has four subdued "Titanium" color options -- (Beige-Gold) "Desert", (Gray) Natural, White, and Black.

Internally, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is powered by a 4.0 GHz Apple A18 Pro processor with six cores -- two performance cores and four efficiency cores -- as well as a 6-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine. It has 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of flash storage. It also supports 802.11be Wi-Fi 7 with 2x2 MIMO, 5G wireless, Bluetooth 5.3, "second generation" Ultra Wideband, NFC for Apple Pay, "Express Cards with power reserve" for compatible transit systems, Thread networking, Crash Detection, Emergency SOS and Roadside Assistance via satellite, a USB-C port (with support for USB 3), a new "Camera Control" button (as well as a hardware "Action" button), and support for Apple Intelligence AI features.

Apple estimates that the iPhone 16 Pro Max provides "up to" 105 hours of audio playback, 33 hours of video playback, and 29 hours of streamed video playback.

In mainland China, this specific iPhone 16 Pro Max costs RMB 9999, 11,999 and 13,999 with 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB of storage. It also is available financed over a two-year contract for as little as RMB 417, 500, and 583 a month, respectively.
