Which iPhone models support iOS 27? Do some models "partially" support iOS 27? Which ones?
Apple first unveiled iOS 27 -- named for 2027 -- on June 8, 2026. A public beta is expected "next month" and the final version is promised for autumn 2026.

Tucked away in the fine print, Apple mentions basic iOS 27 compatibility info in a company press release. From time-to-time, specific iOS feature support can vary from device to device, so it is important to pay attention to specifics.
New iOS 27 Features
This year, Apple consolidated its operating system press release -- as well as many of its promo photos -- and it seems likely that the company's operating systems will continue to converge in the coming years.
Rather than adding major new features to iOS 27, Apple focused on three primary points -- (1) new versions of Apple Intelligence and Siri, (2) trust and safety (especially for children), and (3) platform improvements.
iOS 27 Feature Support Differences
iOS 27 supports the same iPhone models overall as its predecessor, iOS 26.
A full list of iPhone devices supported is below. However, note that not all of these iPhone models support Apple's flagship feature -- Apple Intelligence.
In fact, the majority of iPhone models that support iOS 27 do not support Apple Intelligence at all.
Only the newest and fastest iPhone models -- the iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone Air -- support the "most powerful on-device model" of Apple Intelligence, which enables expressive Siri voices and more advanced dictation.
The iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro/Pro Max, iPhone 16e, and iPhone 17, on the other hand, support Apple Intelligence, but not to its maximum potential on device.
Identification Help (Skip)
If you are not certain which iPhone you have, a relatively convenient way to identify your device is by Model Number.
Regardless of the age of your iPhone, you can find this Model Number in the iOS "Settings" app on your iPhone under General > Regulatory > or General > Legal & Regulatory, depending on the version of the iOS. You also can find a general "Model Name" under General > About that is precise enough for this purpose.
Although it is much more complicated (and even more specific), you might also consider using the Order Number for identification, which is specified as "Model" within the iOS "Settings" app under General > About.
For example, in the United States, this "Model" within the iOS looks like MG7Q4LL/A, which precisely refers to an iPhone 17 Pro (US/A3256) in "Deep Blue" with 512 GB of storage.

If your iPhone isn't listed above, it is not compatible with iOS 27.
To reiterate, the majority of iPhone models that support iOS 27 do not support Apple Intelligence and only the newest and fastest iPhone models support the "most powerful on-device model", which enables expressive Siri voices and more advanced dictation.

iOS 27 Summary
Ultimately, although iOS 27's hardware requirements remain steep for full functionality, promises of faster performance and improved usability always are welcomed. Likewise, enhanced Apple Intelligence and Siri may prove to be worthwhile, and any efforts to make it easier for parents to protect children from social media companies and other threats certainly are better than nothing.
As always, EveryMac.com recommends that for those who use their iPhone for important tasks, it is wise to skip any public beta version entirely. It even is a good idea to resist the temptation to immediately upgrade to the "final" release to allow for a couple of "bug fix" updates, as well.
