Please note that this A3410 iPhone 16e is compatible with 23 different 5G bands, but not n14 (700 PS), n29 (700d MHz), n53 (TD 2500), or n71 (600 MHz) nor mmWave bands n258, n260, and n261. It is not compatible with 4G LTE bands 14 (700 PS), 29 (700d Mhz), 53 (TD 2500), or 71 (600 MHz), either. Unlike other iPhone 16e models, this model does not support eSIM at all and instead supports dual physical nano-SIM cards. It is sold only in mainland China (Hong Kong and Macao use the A3409 "Global" version of the iPhone 16e). It is technically compatible with carriers around the world, though.
Released as an entry-level, budget replacement for the iPhone SE 3, the iPhone 16e has much in common externally with the iPhone 14, but loses MagSafe and gains USB-C, a higher resolution (albeit single lens) camera, and an "Action" button. Internally, it has more in common with the iPhone 16, with the A18 processor (albeit with one fewer GPU core), but loses 5G mmWave, Wi-Fi 7, Ultra Wideband, and Thread networking support and gains better battery life.
All iPhone 16e models have a haptic-touch capable 6.1" (diagonal) "Super Retina XDR" display (2532x1170, 460 ppi) that occupies nearly the entire front of the device. It has two cameras; one front and one back. On the front -- tucked in the "notch" -- is a "TrueDepth" camera that in addition to supporting Face ID, has a f/1.9 aperture, takes 12 megapixel photos, and shoots 4K video. The rear camera -- advertised as a "2-in-1 camera system" -- has a single 4K capable 48 megapixel "Fusion" camera (f/1.6 aperture) that supports both 24 and 48 megapixel photos.
The iPhone 16e uses an aluminum case with flat sides and has a glass front and back. The front has a "Ceramic Shield" cover for durability and the entire device is splash, water, and dust-resistant to the IP68 standard. It is available only in a matte white or black finish (and no other colors).
Internally, the iPhone 16e is powered by a (Pending) "Apple A18" processor with six cores -- two performance cores and four efficiency cores -- as well as a 4-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine. It has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB, 256 GB, or 512 GB of flash storage. It also supports 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 with 2x2 MIMO, 5G wireless, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC for Apple Pay, "Express Cards with power reserve" for compatible transit systems, Crash Detection, and Emergency SOS via satellite.
Apple estimates that the iPhone 16e provides "up to" 90 hours of audio playback, 26 hours of video playback, and 21 hours of streamed video playback.
In mainland China, this specific iPhone 16e costs RMB 4499, 5499, and 7499 with 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB of storage, respectively, paid up front or RMB 187, 229, and 312 a month, respectively, financed over a two-year contract.
