August 13, 2007

This month, EveryMac.com features a sitewide update of estimated current retail pricing for used systems and complete technical specifications on the all new "Aluminum" iMac and updated Mac mini models.

The "By Processor," "By Case Type" and "By Capability" Mac specification listings have been updated as well.

Today's Discussion Q&A is "What do you think about the new 'Aluminum' iMac systems? Do you like the 'iPhone inspired' silver and black design or do you prefer the older white look? Do you think the latest iMac is a natural evolution of an essentially perfect desktop system or would you prefer a more daring departure in form or function? Do you think it is logical to discontinue all-in-one desktop systems with smaller displays or do you think it is a mistake for Apple to no longer offer a sub-US$1000 iMac model? Why or why not?" Contribute your ideas.

In case you missed one, Q&As since the last major update include:

  • What are the differences between the "Aluminum" iMac Core 2 Duo models?
  • What operating system does the iPhone use?
  • Can you purchase the iPhone "unlocked"?
  • What applications are available for the iPhone? Will third-party applications be available in the future?
  • What can you do with the Apple TV USB port? Does it support an input device like a keyboard or mouse? Does it support an external hard drive or an iPod?
  • Can I add additional or custom ringtones to the iPhone?
  • Can you "beam" data files between two iPhone models? Does the iPhone support "disk mode" when connected to a computer?
