August 30, 2010

This update of EveryMac.com features complete specs (and a handful of Q&As) on the now shipping Mac Pro models, a completely updated Aluminum iMac Q&A, and expanded iBenchmarks.

Additionally, the Currently Shipping, By Year, By Processor, By Case Type, By Capability, and By Identifier Mac specs listings have been updated and Mac manuals and Mac benchmarks have been updated as well. The Ultimate Mac Comparison and Ultimate Mac Lookup features all have been updated too.

The completely updated Aluminum iMac Q&A answers "How fast are the 'Mid-2010' Aluminum iMac models compared to one another? How much faster are these models than the 'Late 2009' models replaced?" and "Is it possible to upgrade the processor in the Aluminum iMac models?" as well as dozens of other questions about the latest Core i3, i5 and i7-powered iMacs.

As requested by readers, Everyi.com now includes an average of user-submitted Geekbench 2 benchmarks for iPod, iPhone and iPad devices capable of running iOS 3.1.3 in addition to those capable of running iOS 4. This makes it possible to get a general idea of the relative performance of all modern iPod, iPhone and iPad models as well as compare the relative performance of these devices to Macs.

For those interested in saving money on a new Mac Pro, site sponsor Adorama sells the latest models free of sales tax and with free shipping. To save money on upgrades, OWC has quality memory, hard drives, and SSDs for the new Mac Pro at affordable prices.

If you buy a new Mac Pro, please send in its serial number. This information will be added to the Ultimate Mac Lookup to help with model identification and differentiation. Thank you very much.
