December 14, 2012

This update of EveryMac.com features complete specs, identifiers, benchmarks, and global prices for the now shipping "Tapered Edge" Aluminum iMac models as well as new iPad and iPad mini Q&As that cover the latest devices.

If you missed it mere days ago, be sure to check out the all new iPad version of the EveryMac webapp [subsequently discontinued]. The EveryMac webapp has much of the same content and functionality as the "old school" EveryMac.com website established in 1996, but is entirely redesigned for the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.

Additionally, the Currently Shipping, By Year, By Processor, By Case Type, By Capability, and By Identifier Mac specs listings have been updated and Mac Manuals, Mac Benchmarks, and Global Original Mac Prices have been updated, also.

The Ultimate Mac Comparison, Ultimate Mac Lookup, and Ultimate Mac Sort features all have been updated, too.

For those interested in saving money on a new iMac (and all new Macs, iPods, and iPads), site sponsor Adorama has the latest models free of sales tax and with free shipping.

If you bought, or buy, a new iMac, iPad (4th Gen) or iPad mini, please send in its serial number. The non-personal information will be added to EveryMac.com's Ultimate Mac Lookup to help with model identification and differentiation. Thank you very much.

New Q&As

A selection of Q&As since the last major site update include:

  • What are all the differences between the iPad 4th Gen models? Which should I buy?
  • What are all the differences between the iPad mini models? Which is best for me?
  • What are all the differences between the iPad 4th Gen (Late 2012) and the iPad 3rd Gen (Early 2012) that it replaced?
  • How does the performance of the iPad 4th Gen compare to the iPad 3rd Gen, iPad 2, and iPad mini? Which is fastest?
  • How do you print directly from the iPad without transferring files to a computer first? Is it possible?

Today in Mac History:

Select dates in Mac History since the feature last was mentioned on the "What's New?" page include:
