24-Inch 2024 4.5K iMac M4The iMac "M4" 10-Core CPU/10-Core GPU/4 "Thunderbolt 4" (2024) model features a 4.4 GHz Apple M4 processor with 10 cores (4 performance cores and 6 efficiency cores), a 10-core GPU, a 16-core Neural Engine, 120GB/s of memory bandwidth, 16 GB or 24 GB of onboard "unified" RAM, and a 256 GB or 512 GB onboard SSD. Both the RAM and the SSD can be custom configured at the time of initial system purchase, but not upgraded subsequently.

This all is housed in a wafer thin aluminum case with flat edges that includes a 23.5" 4480x2520, 218 PPI, LED-backlit, "True Tone" widescreen "Retina 4.5K" display mounted on a thin aluminum stand. This specific model has six two-tone color options -- blue (pictured), green, purple, pink, orange, and yellow -- as well as a "classic" uniform silver color. It also has an integrated 12 megapixel Center Stage camera with "Desk View" support and 1080p video recording, a "studio-quality three-mic array" and a "high-fidelity six-speaker system" that supports Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos.

Connectivity includes four Thunderbolt 4 ports, a 3.5 mm headphone jack conveniently mounted on the left edge of the display, Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax), and Bluetooth 5.3. Gigabit Ethernet is provided via a port on the power brick by default.

Compared to its predecessor, the "2024 M4" iMac models are similar, but use some different colors (which also are more vibrant on the back), have a newer and faster processor/graphics processor, more RAM by default, a more advanced camera, better external display support, and the option of a reduced glare "nano texture" display option at additional cost.

By default, this specific "2024 M4" iMac ships with a small, color matched aluminum USB-C based wireless "Magic Keyboard with Touch ID" (but without a numeric keypad) as well as a wireless "Magic Mouse" with multi-touch surface support. At extra cost at the time of system purchase, you can substitute the Magic Mouse for a Magic Trackpad for an extra US$50, which provides multi-touch input and Force Touch support. You also can upgrade the keyboard to a Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Numeric Keypad for US$30.
