iPhone 18 Pro & iPhone 18 Pro Max Pros:

• Slightly worse battery life on models with a physical SIM.
• Older modem on iPhone 18 Pro Max on models sold in the US.

So, should I buy an iPhone 18 Pro or iPhone 18 Pro Max?

Compared simply to one another, and ignoring other models, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro are so similar that the decision really only comes down to size and price. They're both very high quality phones that also are quite expensive.

Personally, we prefer smaller phones and would always choose the iPhone 18 Pro over the iPhone 18 Pro Max. The iPhone 18 Pro is US$100 cheaper, as well.

On the flip side, if you mostly use your iPhone for gaming and video playback, and you don't mind a rather heavy device that can be a bit awkward to use with one hand, the iPhone 18 Pro Max is for you. In addition to the larger display, the iPhone 18 Pro Max pops out an extra six hours or so of battery life in "typical use". Longer battery life always is a good thing.

Of course, for those on a budget, all iPhone Pro and iPhone Pro Max models have been highly capable for many years now and used models are well worth considering, also.
