Apple iPhone 17ePlease note that this A3635 iPhone 17e is compatible with 22 different 5G bands, but not n14 (700 PS), n29 (700d MHz), n53 (TD 2500), or n71 (600 MHz) nor mmWave bands n258, n260, and n261. It is not compatible with 4G LTE bands 14 (700 PS), 29 (700d Mhz), 53 (TD 2500), or 71 (600 MHz), either. It has support for dual eSIM and a physical nano-SIM card. It is sold only in mainland China (Hong Kong and Macao use the A3634 "Global" version of the iPhone 17e). It is technically compatible with carriers around the world, though.

Released as an also entry-level replacement for the iPhone 16e, the iPhone 17e has much in common externally with its predecessor, but adds MagSafe and a stronger "Ceramic Shield" for improved scratch resistance, and an additional color option (soft pink). Internally, it has more in common with the iPhone 17, with the A19 processor (albeit with one fewer GPU core), but loses 5G mmWave, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, Ultra Wideband, and Thread networking support.

All iPhone 17e models have a haptic-touch capable 6.1" (diagonal) "Super Retina XDR" display (2532x1170, 460 ppi) that occupies nearly the entire front of the device. It has two cameras; one front and one back. On the front -- tucked in the "notch" -- is a "TrueDepth" camera that in addition to supporting Face ID, has a f/1.9 aperture, takes 12 megapixel photos, and shoots 4K video. The rear camera -- advertised as a "Fusion camera system" -- has a single 4K capable 48 megapixel "Fusion Main" camera (f/1.6 aperture) that supports both 24 and 48 megapixel photos.

The iPhone 17e uses an aluminum case with flat sides and has a glass front and back. The front has a "Ceramic Shield 2" cover for durability and the entire device is splash, water, and dust-resistant to the IP68 standard. It is available in a matte white, black, or "Soft Pink" finish.

Internally, the iPhone 17e is powered by a 4.25 GHz "Apple A19" processor with six cores -- two performance cores and four efficiency cores -- as well as a 4-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine. It has 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB or 512 GB of flash storage. It also supports 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 with 2x2 MIMO, 5G wireless (Apple C1X cellular modem), Bluetooth 5.3, NFC for Apple Pay, "Express Cards with power reserve" for compatible transit systems, Crash Detection, and Emergency SOS via satellite.

Apple estimates that the iPhone 17e provides "up to" 26 hours of video playback and 21 hours of streamed video playback.

In mainland China, this specific iPhone 17e costs RMB 4499 and RMB 6499 with 256 GB and 512 GB of storage, respectively, paid up front or RMB 187 and RMB 271 a month, respectively, financed over a two-year contract.
