Apple iPhone XRPlease note that this A2108 iPhone XR was sold only in mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau. It is compatible with FDD‑LTE bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 29, 30, 32, 66, and 71 as well as TD‑LTE bands 34, 38, 39, 40, and 41. It also uniquely supports dual hardware nano SIM cards (rather than one nano SIM and a software-based eSIM like other iPhone XR models).

All iPhone XR models have a haptic touch capable 6.1" (diagonal) LCD "Liquid Retina HD" display (1792x828, 326 ppi, 1400:1 contrast ratio) that occupies nearly the entire front of the device. It has dual cameras. On the front -- tucked in the "notch" -- is a "TrueDepth" camera that in addition to supporting "Advanced Face ID" identification functionality, takes 7 megapixel photos, shoots 1080p video, and has software support for Portrait mode, Portrait lighting, and more. The rear camera is a wide angle (f/1.8 aperture) with a 12 megapixel sensor, supports optical image stabilization, and shoots 4K photos and video.

The iPhone XR uses an "aerospace grade" 7000 series aluminum case and has a glass front and back. It is splash, water, and dust-resistant to the IP67 standard (maximum depth of 1 meter up to 30 minutes). It is sold in six color options -- yellow, white, coral (salmon), black, (royal) blue, and (PRODUCT) RED.

Internally, the iPhone XR is powered by a 64-bit, 7 nm "Apple A12 Bionic" processor with six cores -- two performance cores and four high-efficiency cores -- and an "8-core Neural Engine." It has 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB, 128 GB, or 256 GB of flash storage. It also supports 802.11ac Wi-Fi with 2x2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, LTE Advanced, NFC for Apple Pay, "Express Cards with power reserve" for compatible transit systems, and the aforementioned dual hardware SIMs for this particular China-only model.

Apple estimates that the iPhone XR provides "up to" 65 hours of audio playback, 25 hours of talk time, 15 hours of Internet use, and 16 hours of wireless video playback. Because of the device's glass back, the battery can be charged wirelessly using a charging mat that supports the Qi standard.

In mainland China, unlocked and SIM-free, this specific iPhone XR originally cost RMB 6,499, RMB 6,999, and RMB 7,899; with 64 GB, 128 GB, or 256 GB of storage, respectively. On September 10, 2019, Apple discontinued the 256 GB option and dropped the price of of the 64 GB and 128 GB options to RMB 4,799 and RMB 5,299, respectively. On October 13, 2020, Apple again dropped the price of the 64 GB and 128 GB options to 3,999 RMB and 4,499 RMB in mainland China and HK$4299 and HK$4799 in Hong Kong, respectively. On September 14, 2021, Apple discontinued this model entirely. A variety of payment plans also were available.
