The Apple Mac mini "M4 Pro" 12-Core CPU/16-Core GPU (2024) model features a 4.5 GHz Apple M4 Pro processor with 12 cores (8 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores), a 16-core GPU, a 16-core Neural Engine, and a default 24 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. The RAM is integrated onboard and cannot be upgraded after initial system purchase, but the storage actually is removable even if it is officially "not user accessible". Both RAM and storage can be custom configured with higher capacity options at the time of purchase.
Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax), Bluetooth 5.3, two USB-C ports (up to 10Gb/s) and a 3.5mm headphone jack on the front, and three Thunderbolt 5 (USB-C connector; up to 120Gb/s), HDMI 2.1, and Gigabit Ethernet on the back. This is all packed in a diminutive silver colored cube that is a mere 5 x 5 inches wide and deep and 2 inches tall.
Compared to its predecessor, this model is physically smaller, but uses a faster internal architecture, has more default RAM (as well as higher-end custom configuration RAM options), and has more convenient and higher performance connectivity (but a more awkward power button on the bottom).
All Mac mini systems are configured by default without a display, keyboard, or mouse, but numerous Apple and third-party options are available.
